چکیده
Concrete hollow blocks (CHB) have an important place in modern building industry, and although the CHB is considered a better alternative to fired bricks from ecological economical points of view, however, its prices are still high, since main cost-factor ordinary Portland cement (OPC). This study mainly focusing on utilization volcanic ash (VA) Jebel Marra as low cost material for CHB. In this VA sample (Al-malam area) was investigated physical chemical properties, different substitution levels 10, 20, 30, 40, 50% OPC with pozzolanas were tested. Combined aggregates locally available sand stone also tested their value fineness modulus. Then potential use these materials implemented blends mix ratios. The results analysis showed compliance international specifications. strength activity index containing 20%VA weight at 28 days 87%. If consider 3.5 MPa minimum compressive load bearing required by Indian standard, it can be concluded that used successfully level up 40%, 30%, 20%, binder ratio volume 1:6, 1:7, 1:8, respectively, subsequent reduction 34, 26, 17%, addition, increasing achieved using high pressure making machine.

Rangeland Plants Preferred by Goats Grazing at Western Jebel Marra Locality, Central Darfur State, Sudan
The study was conducted to determine the plants preference by goats grazing at Central Darfur State, Sudan in 2016. The objective was to identify desirable plants that would assist in range rehabilitation. Five mature female goats were used to determine diet selection using the bite count technique. The total number of bites from each plant species was recorded and the selected diet and prefere...
متن کاملCenter for By-Products Utilization UTILIZATION OF FLY ASH AS A CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL IN CHINA
China has one of the largest coal mining industries in the world. Electricity in this country is mostly generated by coal-fired electric power plants. These plants produce huge amounts of ash each year. In 1988, Shanghai city alone produced nearly 1.8 million tons of ash. During the last two decades, a substantial amount of research work conducted by the Shanghai Research Institute of Building ...
متن کاملSaw Dust Ash as Partial Replacement for Cement in the Production of Sandcrete Hollow Blocks
This study investigates the use of Saw Dust Ash (SDA) as partial replacement for ordinary Portland cement (OPC) in sandcrete blocks. Some units of sandcrete hollow blocks were produced by partially replacing the cement content with 5% to 25% by weight of SDA, using vibrating block moulding machine. Sandcrete blocks without SDA serve as the control. The blocks produced were tested to determine t...
متن کاملCoal Ash as a Low Cost Adsorbent for the Removal of Xylenol Orange from Aqueous Solution
The removal ofxylenol orange from aqueous solution onto the coal ash was investigated at room temperature. The results show that the adsorption capacity of xylenol orange increased as the adsorption time increased and then equilibrium established after 30 min adsorption time. The results obtained revealed that the coal ash removed about 80 % of xylenol orange from the aqueous solution withi...
متن کاملNumerical validation of compressive strength prediction for hollow concrete blocks
The results of a numerical modeling program to evaluate the behavior of hollow concrete blocks under uniaxial compression are addressed. It has been considered appropriate to use interface elements to represent the confinement effect at the top and bottom of blocks. The response of the numerical simulations is compared with experimental data of masonry units. Laboratory tests were carried out u...
